Wanting a mechanical keyboard I repurposed an 1990s era keyboard into a custom wooden case. The lighter sides are maple with the darker top and bottom being my favorite, walnut. It turned out very nice and makes a great keyboard to type with. The distinctive click of the keys is great. Hopefully the keyboard remains functional for years to come since I glued all the wood together and don’t have access to the circuitry should it need repair. I will be keeping my eye out from now on for older mechanical keyboards to make some more with.
